WHAT IS GOING ON IN NAWLINS
 

My wife and I recently tried to get hotel reservations in the french quarter for the weekend of may 19th 2000. It has been near impossible. Does anyone know what is going on in town that weekend? Furthermore the only reservation we were able to get that weekend was the French Quarter Courtyard. Seeing that this was the only place available it must have serious faults. Anyone have any additional information?

Dont' know anything specific but almost certainly there is a big conference in town - they can fill the place up. You might look into Grenoble House on Dauphine St. We stayed there and it's a cute place. Better make your restaurant reservations now! Dick

I remember seeing a post from a panicked mom whose daughter from Hawaii was marrying in New Orleans in May and who couldn't find reservations for the wedding party/friends. Seems there are 3 college graduations the same week...She tried to get her name on a waiting list at Windsor Court and was told she'd be number 176!!! Apparently, there are also several huge conventions during May, so you may be outta luck.
