What is a romantic beach hotel in south florida?

My husband and I live in Naples and were planning on going to bahamas this summer for our anniversary but we are now expecting a baby :) I'll be 32 weeks pregnant during our time and so we decided to stay in florida somewhere. We both love the resorts in other countries that are on the beach and have beautiful pool areas and rooms with great service. I really love more private beach areas and a big pretty pool. We won't be able to do any activities at that time so relaxing is my primary purpose! I can't seem to find anywhere though that's between 250-300/n. I was in love with Little Palm Key Resort but it's almost 1k/n! Is there anywhere like this? I want to stay within a 3 hr radius of Naples. So that means Miami beach ( a little busy for us), West plam, clearwater, siesta key, etc. Any ideas welcome!

Why not take a trip down to key west? Lots of beautiful sites to visit, amazing sunsets and shows down at Mallory Square, and awesome local eateries and bars. I take a trip down there every couple months via the Key West Express out of ft myers beach. Taking the boat is much more enjoyable then the hassle of driving, its like starting your vacation before you're even there :) ... seakwestexpress.com

Check out the Ritz Carlton on Key Biscayne. Not sure what the rates are But summer is the slow season so your apt to get a good rate. Also check out Lago Mar resort. Its family friendly so It will only be romantic if there aren't kids running around but its beach area is seperated from the hustle and bustle of ft. Lauderdale.
Other options in the keys would be Hawks Cat in Marathon or Cheeca Lodge in Isla Morada.
Somewhere with a huge pool but no beach is the Biltmore in Coral Gables.

Good Luck and congratulations.

This web site might help you decide. Lots of photos of upmarket Miami and South Beach hotels.

I am a huge fan of little palm island and it is one of my all time favorites....keep your eyes out for deals and really try to get there someday.....$1k is too much. I have seen specials in the $700 range and actually, I paid $400 mid week via an online auction site but have not seen it again....

I suggest looking at: Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa, gorgeous, elegant, chic, all huge suites, awesome spa, great dining, 2 gorgeous pools...easy access to West Palm and Palm Beach...it is not a typical Marriott by any means...I checked a random summer weekend and it came up at $249; I have seen a groupon or travelzoo deal for spa as well which might be a nice touch.

A couple of my other personal favorites:

Jupiter Beach Resort (reminds me a bit of LaPlaya in Naples)

Aqualina in Sunny Isles

The Breakers Palm Beach

The four seasons palm beach

The Omphoy Palm Beach

I would also recommend Boca Resort & Club, but I was just there and service was lax and hotel musty and showing signs of wear.

My 2 cents on Hawks Cay is that's its more for families and I don't find Cheeca all that fabulous....I would find Key West a drag if I couldn't drink, but that's just me....

You should be able to find lots of summer deals at these places!!
