Will rent a car for the day when in Maui.

Going to a luau in Lahaina in the evening, but what are the hot spots we should try out during the day?

You'd have time to drive up Haleakala, which is world-class amazing. Then go to Lahaina a bit earlier than the luau to poke around town. It's a fun place.

If you have extra time in Lahaina, there's a pretty interesting self-guided historic walking tour you can get a map and do in the downtown area.
