What had happened?

Traveling is only one of my passions, so I haven't visited this forum in about six months. I can hardly believe some of the things I am reading. What happened?

That subject post should read: What has happened? Please pardon the typo.

i have to agree I haven't read this forum regularly in a year and half and there is a lot of grabage on it now- I guess what happened is that the internet is now used by a much larger segment of the general population so we get the good along with the bad. Also we get the posters who are sometimes good but are so concerned about what questions are allowed, etc. that it becomes annoying. But there is still good travel advice in here you just have to ignore the garbage. But I will not use my actual e-mail address when posting to protect myself from unwanted messages.

There are nuts everywhere. But I still find some useful stuff here. Sometimes, though, it takes longer to find the good stuff than it used to. But don't give up on Fodor's - it's still one of the best travel forums.

Relax, folks. Things are fine. In case you haven't noticed, most all forums get ugly during the summer with bored schoolkids trying to start trouble! And why start threads about it? If you want to talk about travel, then talk about travel, and ignore the little bastards.
