Afreind wrote to me and said"you will receive a very warm welcome". Idon't quite understand what exactly this means. Please help.

In the U.S., a "warm welcome", or to be greeted "warmly", means you will encounter friendliness and hospitality. It probably originates from past times when a traveler literally needed warmth from the cold outside. It's a good thing.
