What does LOL stand for?

Laugh(ing) out loud

LOL= laughing out loud <BR>LMAO= laughing my a** off <BR>IIRC= if I recall correctly <BR>IMO= in my opinion <BR>IMHO= in my humble opinion <BR>BTW= by the way <BR> <BR>I'm sure there are others, but these are the handful that puzzled me for awhile.

Have also heard of LOL as "lots of luck." <BR> <BR>

And I think once upon a time in either police speak (probably in Pasadena) and/or ham radio speak it stood for "little old lady." CQ, CQ.

This one got me for a while: <BR> <BR>ROFLMAO = Rolling on the floor laughing my a** off. <BR> <BR>How about a new one just for this board? <BR> <BR>GAL = Get a life!

With this continuing dumbing down of the English language, pretty soon we will be writing and speaking in symbols. I guess that Prince fellow was ahead of his time.
