What do you feel like eating tonight?

Just called my husband and he wasn't very helpful "Whatever you feel like cooking is fine with me". I'm all out of ideas. So, if someone who likes to cook and is good at it is offering to make you anything you want tonight, what's it going to be? And hurry up, I'm going to the grocery store in the next hour.<BR><BR>Thanks. And yes, it is a lazy summer day.

Try this:<BR>Preheat oven to 325.<BR>Grill about a pound of ground beef (or turkey if you like)<BR>Drain off any grease.<BR>Place in a baking dish and mix with a bottle of BBQ sauce.<BR><BR>Mix a box of corn bread mix<BR>Place on top of meat and BBQ sauce<BR>Bake until golden brown<BR>Serve with a yummy salad.<BR>Enjoy!

hmmm, risotto is a contender. Asparagas risotto or seafood? I already have the arborio rice and homemade chicken stock.

Steak, lobster tails, corn on the cob and potatoes on the grill. Can't get any easier than that!

How is this a travel related questions? Unless you figure you have to travel to the supermarket to get ingredients? You're not even talking about dining out? Sheesh.

hmm ... depends how spicy u want it .... if u like it hot then i would go for Blackened Halibut [with cajun spices], if u like it mild, then just a simple halibut sprinkled on one side with lemon-pepper, salt, garlic, dill, and squeeze some lime/lemon. Plus a soup and some sourdough bread to go with it. there's a healthy, delicious meal.

Chef Jul 12th, 2002 11:13 AM

Pasta with Pesto sauce with a Tomato salad as a side dish, crusty Italian bread and chilled white wine. Of course you could always make reservations.

Chef, that's exactly what we had last night! Except instead of tomatoe salad I made tomatoe, fresh mozzarella and basil. My basil plants were getting overgrown. It was delicious. <BR><BR>xxx it's not travel related. So what.

Ruth's Chris -- No thanks. Jul 12th, 2002 11:30 AM

I still say the best steaks are ALWAYS cooked at home. Went by the local butcher and bought four certified Angus NY strips, then picked up a couple of baked potatoes, salad ingredients, and a freshly baguette. I'll be on the patio this cool summer night with a cooler stocked full of icy-cold beer, grilling away with some good friends. I'll let you know how it comes out.

It's Friday night for God sakes, why sit home and cook? GO OUT!!!!

nice Jul 12th, 2002 11:34 AM

Agree Ruth. The grilled halibut and steaks are sounding mighty tempting. I'm off now, I guess I'll make my final choice when I get to the market. Happy cooking everyone and have a great weekend, it looks to be a beautiful one here in the Northeast! It's almost cocktail time, sneak out of work early!

Leftover homemade spaghetti from last night: two kinds of tomato sauce, 4-5 different seasonings and garlic bread that comes with a side of "Breath Assure."<BR>
