What city is the least unspoiled by concrete and strip malls?

Hilton Head does have strip malls, they are just extremely well hidden by the trees and plant life. It makes it difficult to find them especially at night since there are not a lot of street lights. Hilton Head also doesn't have high rise buildings that spoil the view. A lot of cities could learn a lot from development of Hilton Head, but then again, HH has lots of money!

You bet I've driven down Patton and Tunnel lately -- went to O'Charley's just the other day (yum yum!) and I was at Stella Blue the night of the Patton Avenue Pub shooting, and got out just in time to see the cop cars congrgating. By Asheville standards, they're awful, though I think Hendersonville Road is a little worse, and so is Brevard Road near Biltmore Square.
But you have to admit, they're a darned sight better than Wade Hampton Blvd in Greenville -- and Woodruff Rd, Laurens, Rd, Haywood Rd, Pleasantburg Dr, Poinsett Hwy, White Horse Rd, Congaree Rd, etc... for that matter.
