What can you bring in to WDW

Good afternoon Fodorites,

I am traveling to WDW in early to mid June with 9 1/2 year old daughter. Thinking of bringing waist packs to store items. Would like to bring in snack bars, sunscreen, water and ponchos in our fanniepacks. Is this permitted? My daughter needs to bring snacks around with her as she gets hungry between meals a lot and then at the main meal will eat next to nothing. Do you know what you can and cannot bring in to the Disney Parks? Is there a link for this? Thanks.

We've always brought exactly the items that you've suggested with us and had no problems at any of the Disney Parks.
Make sure your water containers are plastic and not glass.

howie67, Disney is actually very relaxed about what you can bring in. As far as snacks and water, no problem. I have actually seen people bring in their own lunch in cooler. They will check your bags but are only looking for weapons and such. I have never seen anybody denied any food or drink to be brought in.

Just wanted to add that our last trip was in 2004 so I hope this info is still current.

No glass, no alcohol, no weapons, no problems. We've had security guys pretend to "steal" the kids's snacks as a joke, but there have never been any problems.

If you are planning to visit one of the Universal parks, note that the last time I was there, they were VERY strict about not letting in outside food and drink.

Thanks all for your help. I will keep this in mind in our planning.
