LoveItaly--I keep a 3x5 card in my wallet with numbers...only because I haven't figured out how to program them into my phone, lol!

miller20601--My DH retired from the miltary lastyear, so I know that feeling of having to leave by yourself. Your lists made me giggle since I could totally relate.

Hi mms, good grief so many things to think about! And I, who listed I thought everything that we all need to do here on Fodors was shocked when my daughter mentioned "Mom, that is fine that you have besides on your computer and your cellphone and in your address book all the contact info but what if you are not home and your cellphone dies and you can't get back home etc., you need phone numbers in your wallet!" Oh oooops she was correct.

Why she thought of it. The older lady she is good friends with that went to Italy with her daughter. They are from NO. This lady did not know for days if her husband and the other members of family were alive and safe, dead etc. Although it turns out all family members are alright (and now in Texas)this dear ladies cellphone "died" while she was in Italy. And consequently she did not have or have memorized any of the other family's phone numbers. Total panic time. Soooo MMS, tomorrow I will take an index card and write phone numbers on it and put that in my wallet.

BTW, at some point I will be up to Portland. Hope to meet you. I will program your cellphone for you. Believe me dear one, if I can do that anyone can, LOL. Take care.

LoveItaly--My DH left his cell at home on accident yesterday. He needed some numbers so had to walk me through that. The poor guy was trying to be patient with me, lol! I just happened to put the 3x5 in my wallet before an emergency several years ago and I cannot tell you how helpful that was. For one thing, when the adrenaline is flowing, you forget humbers that you know very well.

Hi mms, that is exactly what my daughter said happened to her friend in Italy. With the shock of what was happening in NO she couldn't remember anyones number and neither could her dear daughter, and that was right when her cell phone "broke". Panic time for sure. Well we can all learn from each other.
