I've lived in Chicago my whole life and still haven't been up in the Sears Tower.
|
I've lived in the NYC Metro area for 3 1/2 years and have never visited Ellis Island or MOMA, although I've been to the Guggenheim. the Metropolitan, the Frick, the New Museum and seen my share of Broadway shows and live music.
I truly regret not having visited the observation deck on WTC. I did visit some of my customers on upper floors as close a few weeks before 9/11 but was typically sequestered in windowless wiring closets. I finally walked the brooklyn Bridge and can't believe I waited so long to do it. It's a glorious walk and has a view of the skyline that is simply unequaled. I also haven't taken a carriage ride in Central Park at night but I'm waiting for "Ms. Right" before I part with the ducats for that :-) |
Grew up in LA and never set foot on Catalina Island. Been 100 ft. away on boats, but never ashore. Oh, the horror, the horror...

Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. I've never been inside our Provincial Legislature buildings, have never been to Fort Edmonton Park (historic re-enactment type of place) and, living only 4 hours from Jasper, have never been skiing (and have no intention of trying it, ever).

We've lived in Atlanta for 12 years and haven't been to the Martin Luther King Memorial yet...tried to find it once for a visitor and got lost and gave up!
BTW 14VK8SHN, very funny about Tara!! |
Have still never been to the Atlanta History Center.
|
I am broken hearted that so many folks from Atlanta have never been to Tara! weep weep~ |
I live in Dublin Ireland and I've never been to the Guinness brewery! And I love the stuff!! :0)

My best friend was born and raised in London and she has never been to the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Kensington Palace or seen the changing of the guard!
My husband is from Florence and he had never been to the Uffizzi until I dragged him through it 100 times! As for me, I live in So. Cal and I hate Disneyland. My poor deprived children have only been once that they can remember, but they have both been to Europe many times. |
Go to Cape Cod every summer, visit P-Town but have never been to a drag show!
|
I grew up on Log Island and for thee past 28 years have lived in NYC. I have never been to the Hamptons or Fire Island.
Frankly, I have no desire. |
Not ashamed any longer: finally made my way from San Francisco to Yosemite earlier this year. It was stupid not to go there earlier. Thanks to Fodorites I picked the best time to go when the waterfalls were at their fullest. Next time thinking of going some time in October to see the fall colors.
|
I lived in Phoenix, AZ for 2 years and never visited the Grand Canyon.
Born and raised in DE but never went to Rehobeth beach. Always went to the Jersey shore. Lived in Memphis, TN for a year and 1/2 and didn't visit Graceland. |
I've lived in the DC area most of my life and, although I've tried, I've never made it to the top of the Washington Monument.
|
Wow - I can't believe so many of you live so close to so many cool things and have never checked them out! I live in Chicago and I've done all the touristy stuff here, I only wish I lived closer to the east or west coast to see all the cooler things out there, and Europe - I could NEVER go to europe without seeing all the main attractions! Shame on all of you! lol Just realize that there are people out there like me that never get to travel and would love to have the opportunity to live so close to so much! :)

I live in the Kansas City area but had never visited the Truman home until last year on my birthday. It was very interesting but wish we could have gone upstairs. Afterward we ate at Ophelia's on the square in Independence (which I highly recommend) and then went to the Angel Lady shop, where my husband bought me a special angel in memory of my birthday. We, as so many others have mentioned, have decided to take more daytrips around our area in the next year. I found the books entitled "Off the Beaten Path" to be helpful in this regard.

We have Mcdo's all over Boston, never been in one.

I've lived in Durango, Colorado for 6+ years, but have yet to make it to Glenwood Springs, Creede, Lake City, Crested Butte, or Steamboat Springs, all of which I hear are great. I've only stayed in Denver once in this time (although I visited a couple of times before I moved here). This summer, I did manage to go to Hovenweep NM, Monument Valley, and Great Sand Dunes for the first times. I also hiked in the mountains east of Creede last week. I haven't been to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison for nearly 15 years.
I lived in Houston for 19 years, but never took an Astrodome tour, and never went to Space Center Houston. In my defense, I did go to NASA several times My husband went to Space Center Houston with guests and our kids, but I just stayed home alone to enjoy the quiet of an empty house. |
there's no crying in baseball, and there's no regrets in travel unless you see to it yourself.
|
Lived in Atlanta for 15 years and never once stepped foot in the World of Coca Cola. Nor the High Museum of Art. Nor the King Center. As for Tara.... does Tara Boulevard count?
