What are best comedy places in NYC?
 

I will be in NYC and would like advise on the good comedy places in NYC- name, address, and why you like them,please. Thanks for your help.

Chicago City Limits is excellent---some sketch comedy, some improv. It's on First Ave in the 60s, I believ.<BR><BR>In terms of stand-up places, it really depends what comics are on. If you have a wide-ranging sense of humor, chances are you'll like one of the comics in the line-up. When you get to NYC, pick up a copy of Time Out and see what's up for the week.<BR><BR>Upright Citizens' Brigade (have a website, don't know the address offhand) is also great--cheap, too.

The Comic Strip on 2nd and 72nd?! (thereabouts) is a landmark for comedy in NY. We have been lucky enough to stumble on top class performers trying out new acts -

I like going to an expensive bar, and just watching all the dressed-up twentysomethings trying to impress each other. It is quite a sight.

Yes Caroline's is probably one of the best in the city and brings in top talent. It is on Broadway in the around 48th St.<BR><BR>IF you are looking for a fun evening, I HIGHLY recommend Forbidden Broadway, also in the Times Square area. It is the funniest show I have ever seen. It is an off broadway &quot;show&quot;, well more like a take off of every broadway show you have ever seen, it is so funny, and the performances are top notch.<BR><BR>Enjoy your trip to the city.<BR><BR>Happy Holidays!!

Another thumbs up for Carolines - my fiance and I discovered it quite by chance in the summer and really enjoyed it- a bit pricey (something like 15.00pp just to get in and drinks are not cheap) but I think you get your money's worth. The acts were definetly funny. Its right there in the heart of Time Square
