Whale Watching Where?

Hi, I will be going to Seattle for the first time in July. I wanted to know which was better for whale watching: San Juan Islands or Victoria, Vancouver? Also if anyone has the name of a whale watching company they have used and like, please pass it on. Thanks

Last summer, we took captain jack's whale watching cruise from pt. townsend, washington (olympic pennisula) It was wonderful, altho they're supposedly all the same...?
It also included a yummy lil lunch ;)

It's always going to be different, no guarantees. In Victoria, at the inner harbor across and down the street from The Empress, there are a couple stores that also promote whale watching trips. I suggest you just go there, walk in, and ask how the trips are going. If you hang around awhile, you can probably catch people coming back from shorter trips (whereas some are about four hours long).

We had a terrific view of Orca pods all over the San Juans last summer. Just depends upon where they are. I suggest you stay flexible and call within the week of your trip.
