We did whale watching in October from the tip of Cape Cod, Provinctown Ma. Boats go to the same area of the Georges Bank (not sure of spelling) if leaving from Provincetown or The New England Aquarium boat from Boston harbor or the boats from Cape Ann, an hour north of Boston, and leave from Glouster. Another year took a boat from Potsmouth New Hampshire in July. Not sure when the season starts and ends, but now you have locations to investigate.

For humpback and minke (there are 4-5 different varieties to be found it those waters) - anywhere around the island of Newfoundland, Canada. In June/July, they follow the spawning caplin, etc. into the many bays. Last year they were pentiful and playful between the mainland island and the Island of Bell Isle (Wabana) in Conception Bay. There's a lovely loft bedroom verandah at Peachy Cove B & B in Portugal Cove, which is owned by a friendly, wonderful couple and you can watch the sun set from behind the island as the whales cavort. Notre Dame Bay is also great whale-watching & you can also see the big land aninam - moose. Regards, Sandy
