Westwater Canyon outfitters
 

Can anyone suggest a specific outfitter on a one day raft trip in the canyon. There are so many and all seem to offer the same trip it's hard to know which one to go with. Any advice on outfitter or alternate trip suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

hi kay, <BR>we did a 1 day rafting trip with navtec to cataract canyon (a total blast!). didn't do westwater, but navtec also runs that river. when we spoke to our guide about westwater, he recommended that for a wilder day on westwater, best to go when the river's not too high, otherwise the rapids get washed out (the opposite is true for cataract). recommend navtec. they have a website: <BR>www.navtec.com <BR>have fun, <BR>tina

Kay, we did a two day/one night trip on the Westwater a few years ago with Adventure Bound River Expeditions out of Grand Junction, Colorado. They were excellent. Totally professional, easy to deal with. They have a website at <BR> <BR>http://www.raft-colorado.com/ <BR> <BR>Have a great time. If you can spare the extra day, do the two day trip.

I forgot to mention an interesting point. All the outfitters hold permits, but for different days. If you are locked into a specific day you may have to find which outfitter has a permit for that day. If you choose a specific outfitter, then you'll have to go with their schedual. It's all controlled by the government (parks service, etc.).

Dear Kay, <BR> <BR>did a trip years ago with Moki Mac River Expeditions. Their 800 number is out of Salt Lake City. They have been running the rivers of UT & AZ for over 40 years, are excellent and less costly than some of the others. Recommend them highly. Their Westwater Canyon trip would run out of Green River, UT.
