Westin Resort in Hilton Head
 

Has anyone stayed at the Westin Resort on Hilton Head Island? Tell me about it please. I'm going to be there for a week and wish to know what it is like. Also what is there to do at Hilton Head? Any good restaurant tips?

The Westin Resort Hilton Head is most definitely one of the finest resort hotels in the country and certainly the best on Hilton Head. I stayed there a couple of years back and had a great time. The resort complex is just beautiful and the staff was extremely accommodating. I remember the on-site restaurants being very good. In fact, I enjoyed the hotel so much that I only left it once or twice the whole week I was there. I particularly enjoyed the pool area, listening to the reggae band at poolside, and being waited on hand and foot. If you do leave the resort, be sure to visit Harbor Town on the other end of the island. Did I mention golf?

I totally agree with the above response. The Westin is a great place to stay. For things to do in Hilton Head, golf and tennis are the top two attractions. Biking is very big there, you can rent bikes for the hour, day, or week at a number of places around the island. There are some very fine galleries there, too. We're going there soon and plan to do some sea kayaking, which we didn't do the last time we were there. Harbor Town in Sea Pines always has something going on. The beaches are great, huge expanses of sand. For restaurants, I'd ask the concierge at the hotel for some suggestions. If you are into outlet mall shopping, there are quite a few on the island, considering its size. Have a great time, the Westin will take good care of you.

I totally agree with the above responses. Westin is a great resort. And, Hilton Head Island is one of our favorite vacation destinations!!! Their is so much to do and there is something for everyone!!!
For starters, the GOLF is fabulous--TENNIS is also available --you can rent a bike and see the island while you exercise to burn off all the calories from all the great restaurants!! You can lay on the beach---you can go out on a boat---you can shop at great boutiques---One of our favorite restaurants is called Cafe Europa---excellent food in a casual setting. The best thing to do is to go downtown, park your car and walk through the quaint village--it is full of shops, restaurants, etc... Enjoy!!
