Westin New York at Times Square
 

This new hotel looks fabulous on the website..anyone stayed there yet??? Thinking about it in December!!!

We are staying in December and are curious also....any reviews are helpful!! Just wanting to make sure we haven't made a mistake!!

The new Westin hotel is not at Times Square, but at the corner of 42nd/8th Ave. Do you mean the W, which is the young/cool brand of Westin, at Times Sq and 47th? If you do mean the recently-opened Westin, bear in mind that you enter and exit the hotel on 43rd at 8th, across the street from the Port Authority bus terminal and around the corner from the tackiness of 42nd St. On Saturday when I was there, they were drilling the street all around the hotel and it was very noisy. The lobby was okay, but you are immediately aware that there is nothing in sight that could be stolen; the layout suggests that security is a top priority. This is a good thing, really; the rooms are probably very nice, but the atmosphere just outside the door might bother you.

I would agree with everything that Lois has mentioned. In addition, I too visited the hotel this weeked, and the entrance is still unfinished. If you are looking for a hip, modern place to stay, the W Union Square would be a good choice. Also, The Parker Meridan has renovated alll their rooms, and they have gotten very good reviews and comments about the hotel and the rooms.
