Westbrook, CT - March

We've received a week at a timeshare in March, and there is an opening Water's Edge Inn in Westbrook, CT. We've been through Mystic before (stayed for a few nights) but never stopped in Westbrook. Can anyone give any insight on what the average weather is like and what types of things there are to do in and near Westbrook? Aside from Mystic, we are very unfamiliar with the area. Thanks in advance for help!

March is not usually a terrific time to visit CT, usually cold and muddy and gloomy. As you know, Mystic is nearby, as are the casinos and the Native American Museum. New Haven has several museums, British Art, natural history, Knights of Columbus, and several good restaurants. Two factory outlet malls very close as well.

The actual town of Westbrook is rather unremarkable, nothing bad, but not much else. It's right on LI Sound. However, nearby are some outlet shopping malls, and some wineries. The town of Essex is also very nice - very quaint, lots of very old homes and shops.

Don't go in March--it's too cold.

March is definitely a poor month to go to Ct. unless you are heavily into gambling at the two casino's. Otherwise, a week here will drive you berserk. It's why those of us from Ct. who can, go south.

We have a week at a timeshare in early October, at Water's Edge in Westbrook, CT. We've never been in this area before. Does anyone have insight on the weather this time of year? Any opinions would be grately appreciated. Thanks!
