It's taking me longer to write the trip report than the entire trip took. And for anyone reading, they probably feel like it is just as long to read it too.

Keep it going T2, I'm finding it very interesting. Thanks.

I am enjoying your report. Plan on visiting Harpers Ferry some day. Did you go to other places in West Virginia?

Since Toucan2 no longer posts on Fodors...no, Harpers Ferry was the only place she visited in WV.

Elberko,
How do you know Toucan2 no longer posts on Fodors? Maybe she got tired of writing her trip report?

Anyways, are you familiar with West Virginia? What other places in WV would you recommend to visit? I haven't found too much information yet.
Thanks1

Karen, I live in VA and went to college in WV. Harpers Ferry is a neat little spot- lots of history and easy access to the AT and the C & O Canal for biking. Shepherdstown is a wonderful town with a really good German hotel/restaurant (the Bavarian Inn). It's home to Shepherd University (about 4K students so not very large). Shepherd's football team is surprisingly decent and it's worth going to a game if you enjoy football.

Berkeley Springs is a nice spot though very small and probably not a place I would base myself for a trip. The Panhandle (Morgan, Berkeley, and Jefferson Counties) is fairly close to Frederick, MD which has a cool downtown with tons of shops and restaurants...and my favorite tapas place, Isabella's.

Winchester, VA is also relatively close with a similar historical, small town feel. Same for Leesburg, VA. Both have nice downtown areas that are easy to navigate.

Also, it's Loudoun Heights in the original trip report, not "Louden" :)

If you click on Toucan2's name you'll see she deregistered. She's fine, and posts on FaceBook but decided she no longer enjoyed posting here.
