West Road Trip

Hi All,

Its getting close to our trip from the UK now, so I thought I would post our plan and reservations to see what people think and if you can offer any tips or changes.

My wife and I have done similar trips a few times, and love these places and the route.

We fly into SFO on Sept 7th. We are staying for three nights and have reservations at The Argonaut in Fishermans Wharf.

We then are driving to Yosemite and staying for two nights at the Yosemite View Lodge.

Then, we are driving over to Mammoth to have one night at Mammoth Mountain Inn.

After this, we will drive through Death Valley, and then up to Vegas for three nights where we have rooms at Signature MGM.

We then drive down to Lake Havasu for a coulple of nights staying at the Agave Inn.

Finally, we drive across to LA and have three nights reserved at Le Parc Suites, West Hollywood before flying home to the UK.

There you go :)

Cheers!

We all could pick at your itinerary with "stay longer here" or "less there", but in all honesty, it sounds like a really WONDERFUL itinerary to me. Have a great time!!

I guess the only part I might question is the night at Mammoth. Is there a particular reason?

By the way, it's been at least 20 years since we stayed at LeParc Suites, but loved the place then. No doubt it's all long been redone. I'm anxious to hear about your stay there.

Thanks. As I say, my wife and I have done similar trips a few times. We realise it would be great to stay a couple more nights here and there, but in all honesty couldnt really afford to :)

We have stayed at Mammoth a few times, and really loved it. Maybe its because we are not used to high mountains being from the UK. It has a kind of weird feel to it without the snow and stuff too. Hard to explain, but we like it. It also means the day of driving through Death Valley up to Vegas isnt so massive, and gives us a bit more time to take in the scenery.

Fair enough. Go for it.

I know you can't do this now, but you really need to dedicate a trip to the beautiful state of Arizona sometime! We just road tripped all over the state and had a fabulous time with unbelievable scenery. Sedona is NOT to be missed!

Yep, I did a AZ trip with my parents years ago, and loved it! Will return one day soon.
