I'm looking for a small laid back hotel/motel/rental unit on or very close to a nice beach on Florida's west coast. I don't want to spend more than $800 for a week. All I want is a great beach a good book and some peace and quiet.

I think you will find most people consider the term "West Coast" applies to California, Oregon and Washington.

You might want to repost with Florida in your header.

when are you going?i might be able to get you a nice resort from rci.but i need to know the dates.it will run you about $450. for the week.
