Wequassett or Chatam Bars Inn
We are looking for an lovely full service resort and I know these are 2 good choices. Anyone have a preference or knowledge about both to help me decide? We are taking a 2 1/2 year old. I believe both are fairly kid friendly since they have children's programs (although our daughter is too young for them)

These are two excellent resorts situated on very scenic beaches. They both offer many amenities, great service and good dining. Whichever you choose you will not be unhappy.

I like the Wequassett Inn because the rooms are in small buildings surrounded by trees so there is a lot of shade whereas the rooms at CBI are more open to the sun.

CBI however is near the town center so that you can walk to shops and restaurants. Wequassett is more remote. If you want to go shopping or out to eat you would need to drive. Hope this helps a little.

Thanks-

I think, if I can, I would prefer to be able to walk to town. Although, it's not really a problem to drive to dinner. Thanks for the help.

Hi Debbie,
The walk from Chatham Bars is probably a couple miles. Bring a stroller! It is also an older, "grand," hotel. I prefer the Wequassett, even though it is further out.
Plan to bring your daughter to the wonderful RTJ playground near the school just outside the center of town!
We stayed at the Chatham Bars Inn a few summers ago. My recollection is that the walk to town is more like 1/2 or 3/4 of a mile, not a couple of miles as the last poster suggested.

Thanks for the info. The playground tip is more helpful than you know. We were in St John last month and although she loved the beach, a stop at the playground was a must everyday. I'm still undecided about which hotel. I have to decide by this friday though or I will be past the "full refund" date for cancellations. Can anyone give me anymore info? I haven't heard anything bad about either choice so I'm sure we will be happy, but I would love any other input. thanks

OK, here's the tiebreaker. You have a 2 1/2 year old and they can get tired riding in a car. Chatham Bars wins, because you never have to get in the car unless you want to.

Chatham Bars is no more than half a mile to town, a very short walk, or push in the stroller. Also, the pool is great for kids, even little ones with it's big "mushroom" sprinkler. I vote Chatham Bars. It's so beautiful, and the view from that piece of beach is spectacular!

Thanks everyone. Based on your responses, I think I will be going with Chatam Bars Inn. Thanks for all the helpful replies.
