<< I went up to the fifth floor where I immediately entered the last gallery (on your left) everyone else went right to follow the collection chronologically. This allowed me to explore entirely on my own for about ten minuter, what bliss to see the Monet room with none else there except the security guy. >>

Shhh...stop giving away the secrets....

Yes the Met is amazing...we spend days in there each trip. And Membership is just fabulous. We love the Member's Dining room - we've enjoyed truffle dinners in December and lunch for my 50th birthday there. We always go to the Petrie Cafe for lunch, have discovered the coffee in the cafe in the American Wing is drinkable, and try really hard to make sure we go to the Met on a Friday or Saturday afternoon so we can enjoy the beautiful Balcony bar. I had to think about what you said about the Balcony lounge being for Member's only. But then I realised the bar and the lounge are two different places.

I love the Whitney, I love love love the permanent collection. I am very very excited to be able to visit the new Whitney in late March.

Sorry this is coming to an end. Sue was right, I loved reading it.

Welltravelledbrit- saw a movie today that I think you'd love. Peggy Guggenheim Art Addict - documentary with some interviews recorded just before her death. Her role in promoting modern art is amazing .

Thanks Northie- I saw it in New York and very much enjoyed it too. It seems we like lots of the same things. Hopefully we'll get to meet someday!
