Weekly parking - Boston - North End

i've rented an apartment for a week in the Boston's North End, but unfortunately, it does not come with any parking. I have to have a car for reasons too long to explain, but would like to park in a lot with in and out privileges, or pay a weekly rate. I can't find a single thing. I thought about asking at a hotel, but would doubt they'd let me

Any ideas or suggestions? (besides ditching the car, which unfortunately is not an option)

I honestly cannot think of any place that offers a weekly parking rate. There are plenty of lots/garages nearby where you can park and pay a daily rate; such as the Government Center Garage, or the North Station Garage:

Oh, the only places I know of that offer weekly rates are at Logan Airport: both on-site parking and some off-site parking lots.

So, if you don't need your car during the week at all; and just want a cheap place to park your car for 1 week, you can park at Logan. The Logan economy lot is $108/week. Pre-flight parking is $81/week with their online coupon. Of course, you have to add in the time, expense, and headache of getting to/from the lot and North End.

you do know you've picked perhaps the worst neighborhood in all of Boston to have a car? Its hard to get around and there is no parking whatsover?

you probably knew that already though. Like Y2k, I don't know of any places that offer weekly rates, and the garages in that area are going to be pricey. But I would probably bite the bullet and park at North Station. It will be pretty easy to get to, and to get in and out of.

I guess it might be cheaper to park at someplace further from the city. Along the same lines as Y2K's idea, you could consider parking at the route 128 train station, or at the Alewife station, at the end of the red line (depending on where you are coming from and where you are going). These will probably be cheaper than downtown, maybe a tiny bit less than Logan. Still, some trouble if you have to go back and forth very much.

Try the North End Garage, at 600 Commercial Street.

Depending on where you are, North Station may be the cheapest and North End Garage more convenient.

There are several open air lots on Commercial Street, and you might find a decent rate there, especially overnight. Post Office Square is cheap overnight and on weekends, but you have to move the vehicle before something like 8 AM to keep the cheap rate. The most expensive garage in the area is at the Aquarium, and rates are predatory.

Karenkr,

Take a look at www.boston.bestparking.com. It will show you your options by neighborhood. Perhaps you can call some of the lots and ask about in/out privileges. The apartment owner/manager also may have a suggestion.
