Weekend trip ideas from Washington, DC?

Does anyone have any ideas for a weekend trip for 2 females, late 30's without their husbands and children? We are looking to go the weekend of 9/18-9/20.

interests: hiking, spa, wineries

TIA!

Keswick Hall near Charlottesville?

Keswick Hall looks beautiful, but it's a little pricey at $700/night. They have a special for $200/night but not for the weekend I want.

Anybody have anything else?

I don't like wine but a friend of mine always tours wineries in VA.

Maryland Wineries:

You could head out to Shenandoah for some hiking:

I believe Berkely Springs has what you are looking for:
Endless hiking, ENDLESS spas, and plenty of fining dining and wines (though no wineries I'm aware of)

Check out the links on the left hand side.

The dirt cheap spa treatments at the State Park are VERY good (reserve ahead).
Some of the private spas are stellar.

It's a little over 2 hours from DC but feels like worlds away.

Yep, Berkeley Springs would fit your bill nicely.

Lancaster County, PA (Full disclosure: I live here.). Really. Well, mostly. Stay at The Inn at Leola Village, and use their spa. It's the nicest hotel in the area, and a very good spa, complete services available. My husband and I did their day-for-couples at the spa (Destinations), and really enjoyed it. (AVOID the spa at Hershey at all costs.) The restaurant attached to the inn, Mazzi, is excellent. You are out in farm/Amish land, and it's quite beautiful. There are no wineries worth your time, this is true. However, we have a number of excellent restaurants. If you go to downtown Lancaster, (about a 10 minute drive from Leola) we would recommend Fen's and Gusto both. There is nice hiking along the Susquehanna and a variety of birding opportunities.

Wintergreen Resort. www.wintergreenresort.com Great food, nice spa, good hiking. I was there last weekend and at Keswick the previous one. I picked up some info and will see if there is anything else listed.
