Hope you enjoyed<BR>How about the Duck tour, this is an amphibious (sp) vehicle that goes on land & into the Charles River. Never took it but heard it's great.<BR>An old standby is Durgin Park, It's one of the oldest restraunts in the US. Petra, the restaurant scene in Boston is currently all about the South End. There are currently so many excellent chef-owned operations that it's hard to make specific recommendations, but here are two sort-of from the opposite ends of the spectrum. Hamersley's Bistro is no longer new, and certainly not any kind of local "secret", but it still sets the standard for Boston - nothing but excellence, and the one restaurant I would always recommend to a visitor. Tremont 647 is the kind of place that locals adore and out-of-towners rave about - one of my best friends lives nearby and eats there nearly every night. It is wonderful.<BR><BR>"boston" - I don't know what you're on about, but, for all its faults - and they are many, Quincy Market is still worth visiting and the statement that "only tourists go to the North End" is so ludicrous I can only assume that you've done a lot of reading about Boston but have never actually been here.

As a Bostonian, I have been going to Legals since it was one hole in the wall in Inman Sq. in Cambridge. You cannot beat the quality of simple fresh fish. Henriettas at the Charles Hotel in Cambrige is fun for lunch.I agree about Julian"s. There are so many good restaurants in Boston.Have a lovely time and to the lucky guy on his 40th-a happy birthday.
