Week long Vacation in Vegas

I am going to Vegas with 2 of friends, for a whole week. Can you give me info on what to do while we're there. Also, where are the best places go and eat. Thank You

Kelly,

Vegas is a fun town, even if you don't gamble! I've seen all the shows, and eaten at most of the restaurants. My recommendations to you, in order:
1) Go see the Mystere show at Treasure Island. I know it seems expensive ($59), but it's worth it. The ABSOLUTE BEST of the Vegas shows. (Don't even waste your money on Siegfried and Roy @ the Mirage...). Save your pennies now for this incredible, exotic show.
2) Eat at the either of the buffets at the Rio. I know when you hear 'buffet' you think, "yeah, right" but these two are different! Awesome!!! If you're loaded with $$$, eat at the Bucaneer Bay Club at Treasure Island and try their lobster...
3) If you're thinking of seeing another show, 'King Arthurs Tournament' at the 'Excalibur' was pretty entertaining.
4) If you're looking for a great social place - try Club Rio, at the Rio, especially on a Saturday night.
5) If you're going to gamble, blackjack offers the best odds if you learn 'basic strategy', if you don't, play craps and bet on the pass/don't pass and come/don't come lines...

Have a great time!

I think Sigfield & Roy is by far the best show in Vegas.

While there take 2 side trips...1. Hoover Dam,about an hour drive. You can actually go down in the Dam. 2. Mt.Charlston about 45 min.away, it's lovely.

If you like to hike, try Red Rock also very close and beautiful.

If you have not choosen a Hotel yet, The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is very nice. It is not as huge as the other Hotels, Service is good and the Pool is wonderful complete with sand beach and underwater music. I would choose a suite rather than a room...these all have a pool-city view and a second half bath.

Visited recently on a biz trip; see the MGM Grand: best comedy club in town and great restaurants!
Also, you've GOT to do the rollercoaster at New York
New York, $4/worth every penny/the line moves fast.
Check out the gift shops at The Motown Cafe (bought
the coolest shades for $16) and at The Luxor.
Have fun/try to fly in or out at night..beautiful!

A couple recommendations. Dinner at the top of the Stratosphere-100+ stories up and revolving for an awesome view -plus the food is quite good. Visit the courtyard at the Flamingo Hilton after dark, absolutely wonderful.

some small tips: the rio is the best food you will eat for the price, it is not a smorgasboard, it is an event! it is all of a block long and set up like a ny street w/vendors along the way, any food you like it is there. sushie bar, chinese, polinesion, italian, whole site set up for desserts. you wont beleive it.
also, if you drive, traffic isnt a prob, city is not that big, also everywhere yu go leave yur car at hotel in area. just drive up and valet will park it for free, flip em a buck upon ur return, unless yu get back late and then you just pick it up and no fee! was great when we figured that out. dam is great tour. walk city at nite, many outside displays by casinos, volcano, full sized pirate ships battle at treasure isl every half hour. you will have a blast!

Too long! A week in Vegas a long time. The days and nights mesh together and never end. Don't get me wrong, we love Vegas. Been about 12 times and getting ready to go again in June. Rio buffet is very good. Sigfried and Roy, not worth the $85. Pirate fight outside of Treasure Island, really cool at night. Great Italian restaurant in the middle of the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Great light show downtown at night. Slots of Fun (on the strip, across from Riveara), fun, free Carona beers, cheap tables, relazed atmosphere, great 5 cent slots. Have fun!

I'd agree that a week in Vegas is a very long time.
My parents just returned from a stay at the Rio Suites
and they loved it. The food court has the best variety
of food in Vegas. I prefer to stay on the strip and like the
MGM. I'd avoid the Excalibur for lodging, but the
King Arthur's Tournament located there is a fun change of pace for
dinner and entertainment at about $35.
The dam tour is a nice distraction as well as Red Rock
state park. If you have a car and want to take a day
out of the area, consider driving east toward St. George
Utah. That's the gateway to Zion National Park which
is a terrific place to go if you want to get away from
the lights and action in Vegas.

Looks like you have plenty of advice for Vegas. Let me add that the Seafood Buffet at the Rio is fantastic (lunch is more reasonable $14.95). Off the strip is a great restaurant, a bit pricey, called The Garlic Cafe. On the budget side, try Ellis Island Casino for food (behind Bally's two blocks) and any of the Blueberry Hill diners. You will be worn to a frazzle in a week at Vegas. I go for business several times a year and am crazy when I leave.
