Weds in June at Lincoln Center
 

Will be attending an afternoon performance there. I'm thinking of seeing the Chanel exibit at MMOA in the morning. Any suggestions on a light pre-performance lunch? After the ballet, will be heading toward Penn Station for Amtrak 5:40 train home -- will that be adequate timing? Any suggestions on where to pick up a sandwich or salad to enjoy on the train ride home?

Oh - I though you were asking about getting married at Lincoln Center!

Have no idea if it will be enough time - since I don't know what you're seeing - nor when it will end. (The ballets are all diferent lengths you know.) The subway to Penn Sta is only about 10 minutes.

If you want to eat near MOMA, La Bonne Soupe on 55 b/w 5th-6th is good for quiche, omelettes,salad and wine etc. If you want to eat closer to Lincoln Center, you could stop at the Whole Foods in Time Warner building at Columbus Circle or do something right around Lincoln Center. There's an Ollie's for asian noodles, there's O'Neal's for a burger...

Agree with nytraveler, you have to find out from the theater when the show gets out to determine whether it's enough time. Sounds like it could be a bit tight, esp. if you want to stop for food to eat on the train.

Haven't been in Penn Station in ages so can't recommend on personal experience but...

I think MHS means the Met (museum)NOT the Modern, when saying MMOA (note MHS, that even the museum buttons/ signs etc say MMA so MMOA is Greek to most of us!)

Gee, janie, you're absolutley correct. I was thinking it was a typo. OK. If you want to eat near the Met museum, for a nice sit down meal there's Cafe Sabarsky in the Neue Museum on the corner of 5th & 86 st. It's a lovely room, a Viennese rest. with things like smoked salmon sandwich to wiener shnitzel. On Madison Ave. there's a Le Pain Quotidien b/w 84-85 st. There's also a regular coffee shop at 81 st and EAT on 80-81 st.
