My daughter was recently engaged and would like to marry in Key West or some other beach location in Florida in June, 2003. They have a small budget and want an intimate affair for a few family and friends. Does anyone have any suggestions on locations or any advice for her?

Chris-There is really no beach to speak of in Key West. I recommend the upper Keys or somewhere like Sanibel Island. In the Upper Keys try the Cheeca Lodge or Hawks Cay in the Middle Keys.

Hi Chris

The gulf coast beach of Florida are beauties and many people have opted to have weddings there at places like Siesta Key, Lido Key, Longboat Key, St. Petersburg Beach, Naples, Marco island. The one problem can be if it rains!! And then too it can get pretty hot in Florida in June.

I've been to weddings on Lido Key and Longboat Key on the beach and they were beautiful.

Lots of people go to Key West to get married, but not because of the beaches, which are small and man-made. Your daughter might consider getting married on a boat at sunset: Floridays is a beautiful sailboat that docks at the Hyatt and has sunset cruises. Fort Zachary Taylor has the best beach but be warned that June in Key West will be very hot and humid.

If you repost your question more specifically (put Key West in the subject), you'll get more responses.
