Wedding gift - weekend in Utah
 

We have friends getting married who will be relcoating to Utah for some time (not sure where in Utah). They will not be going on a honeymoon, so we would like to give them a gift certificate for a weekend away, a bed & breakfast, a resort or a spa. Any suggestions for places to look? We are looking to spend about $400 for the 2 nights. Thank you!

What area in Utah? It's a big state!

I understand there's a place called the Anniversary Inn in Salt Lake. It has theme rooms and is supposed to be quite nice.
Anywhere in Park City would also be nice.

I live in Park City and there are many great suggestions throughout the state. What time of year are you talking about? I assume they will be moving somewhere along the Wasatch Front. Park City is great, but maybe they would like to go south?

In the Heber Valley, east of Park City, there are a couple of excellent B&Bs. The Inn on the Creek and The Blue Boar.

In Springdale, next to Zion Natl Park, The Novel House.

In Boulder, The Boulder Mountain Inn.

In Moab, next to Canyonlands and Arches, The Sunflower Inn or The Dreamkeeper Inn.

All these have web sites you can check out. I have personally stayed in all but the Sunflower, but have had excellent reviews from friends who have.

Wow, thanks for all the suggestions...i looked at each website. What about resorts or spa resorts? Any suggestions?

Spas

The Cliff Hotel at Snowbird has an excellent spa and roof-top pool and hot tub. Rooms probably above your $ budget even in summer. Check spring and fall rates.

Stein Erickson's Lodge at Deer Valley has a spa now. Don't even think about winter, check spring, summer, fall rates.

There are a couple of spas in the St. George, southern Utah, area. One is Green Valley something. If you consider them, be sure to ask if they were affected by the January flooding. There was a lot of serious damage.

I should't speak for utahtea, but, if you're waiting for her response, I believe she usually camps and therefore may not have much information about resorts or spas. She certainly is the expert on everything else!
