I can tell you to avoid Accu Weather on the web. Just about this time last year, I checked their "Stormwatch" the day before we were to leave on a Thanksgiving roadtrip. they reported no significant storms. How did they miss the storm that dumped 2-3 feet of snow in less than 24 hours in my hometown (buffalo, ny) and left many, inclduing my husband, stranded at the offices, schools, etc.). I'll try some of the sites posted here before we leave on this year's trip. We never made it last year.

Try www.weather.com or www.intellicast.com or
htt://twister.sbs.ohio-state.edu (this was recommended by a weather forecaster) All have historical weather areas too, so you can check out what the norms are for any area.
TO UGH: And NO, not all people have cable, or dishes, so try to be civil.

For basic weather forecast next five days etc..

http://www.go2net.com/
SEARCH ENGINE

HOMEPAGE WEATHER SECTION - Stick in zipcode where you are are going voila...

I think this has been asked before a while ago. Try Yahoo! weather

I think that www.wunderground.com has the fastest response time on the weather forecast. Find weather.com to be much slower. However, haven't tried some of the others that have been recommended.

Always good to learn new stuff, though!

The Nat'l Weather Service has the most up to date weather reports anywhere. For your region it's: http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ewx/

http://www.Earthwatch.com is good too; has flashing warnings by county, radar, nexrad, etc.

There's also http://www.WX.com which has weather by zipcode.

If you're interested in strictly severe weather, my page has every decent link I have found. It's geared toward the Southeast, but you could check it out & go to the region want after you've reached the website: http://members.home.net/madcow67

Good luck.

How about a site which tells the monthly averages of temps and rain for places around the world?

Tammy Nov 21st, 2001 06:28 AM

Hi all. I use Yahoo weather for a lot of destinations. It gives current weather and temperature when you log on.
