Weather San Francisco and LA
 

We are due to arrive in San Francisco on Saturday 9 September for three days, then onto Los Angeles for three days. Just wondering what the weather is like at the moment. Many thanks.

Hi Hump, the weather should be beautiful. Summer "starts" in SF in September. However do bring a jacket. LA should be beautiful also. Welcome to CA and enjoy every moment.

Right now the weather is very nice.Not too hot and the fog has burned off. I did, however, hear that there a slight chance of rain next Friday in NorCal. Rain in Sept. is very strange for California, so they could be wrong.

If this applies to anyone driving, I'll be glad I took the time to update here:

Hwy 152 at Hecker Pass is being widened and is closed until the end of Sept 2005, 129 is being suggested instead.

I have said it many times before, and will say it here again. In my opinion, September is THE best month for visiting Southern California.

Sunny, clear skies are forecast for the next week. Temperatures range form the 70's at the coast to the high 90's in the desert.

I was wearing a sweater this morning, and it's getting cooler. Probably windbreaker on weekend.

It's supposed to be in the upper '70's (about 25 celsius)for the days you will be in Los Angeles.

Generally, September really IS the best month for San Francisco's weather, if you like it dry and warm. However, the prediction for this weekend and next Monday is cooler than usual temps and possible rain. Just goes to show that Mother Nature does what she pleases. Do as the locals do - layer and always bring a jacket.
