Weather in San Diego in mid-later August

Hi all,

Is mid-late August in San Diego going to be very hot? What is the temperature like? In 90's? We're planning to take our 2-year old son for a vacation in Southern Cal and wondering if it's going to be too hot. If so we may switch to Northern Cal instead. Thanks!

Hello xymox, what part of Northern California? August is usually the hottest month in a lot of Northern California unless you want to visit oh say San Francisco or the Lake Tahoe region. We are having an early and very hot summer..triple digit temps in a lot of the areas. Lots of fires also.

xymox, you don't need to post your question multiple times. Click on your name (in blue) to find all the posts you have started or responded to.

P.S. I answered your question on the other thread with the same title, but basically I said what LoveItaly said. "Location, location, location."

We're looking to book either La Costa Resort in Carlsbad or Estancia La Jolla. They both seem not too far from the coast so should be comfortable. Thanks again for the advice.

It used to be a lot more predictable! It will be hot, but who knows just how hot. We're just at the end of several unseasonally hot days-in the mid-80s on the beach and rising rapidly once you get a mile inland.

I am a bit confused. You have asked about the weather in Croatia, Hawaii and San Diego - all for mid-August.

Are you trying to figure out where to take your vacation??
