Weather in San Diego in June
How is the weather in San Diego this time of year?
We are going there next week and wonder how to pack!!! Thank you for any info |
Please help me with this
|
Yesterday and possibly today...thunder, hail, lightning.
Usually, we have "June Gloom" which involves a heavy "marine layer" at the coast, sometimes drizzle, temperatures in the mid 60s to low 70s. |
Gee, the 10 day forecast for San Diego on weather.com looks like SF. I would dress in layers. High of 66 next week?

San Diego is a large area and the weather can vary considerably. Along the coast at this tine of year, it can often be overcast, cool, and windy with some rain. At the same time, a few miles inland, it can be warm and sunny. Or the coast can be moderate while it's raining cats and dogs inland. How to pack depends on where you will be staying in San Diego.

Dressing in layers was good advice. We've been having a real mixed bag of weather lately so prepared for anything, except really cold, it will not be that.
|
It has been very cool the last few days but before that it was warmer..and like noted it depends on your actual location IN San Diego.
|
Well, yesterday we had a rain delay for our tennis match, then we had to cancel it altogether because of a second rain squall. It is hard to tell in June what you will get.
|
AS noted "June Gloom" persists on the coast. It is rarely hot here unless you are inland. 70 is the coastal norm all year.

Thank you for the info

beach is usually packed with marine layer in May/June but not always.. and if you go a couple of miles inland, it starts to break up and 5-10 miles, its sunny..
Depends on how hot the deserts are and how cold the ocean water is..plus jet streams. the last week has been very weird with rain and lighting at the beach...we very rarely get humidity here unless it comes up from Mexico..its a cold tropical thing going on here now. dress in layers is always a good thing.. where are you staying in SD? August/September/October are our best months.. You will have fun no matter what..it's San Diego! |
