Weather in Hawaii

I am wondering what the weather is usually like in Hawaii in late December. I know it varies, but what can I expect. If it rains does it tend to rain all day or for just a few hours? Thanks.

The simplest answer to this often asked question is that the weather is USUALLY great in Hawaii at ANY time of year. However, in the winter months it is USUALLY about 5 degrees cooler (which is good) and there is a slightly greater chance of rain (which is bad).

Normally it rains for only a short time, but if you hit a rare day when it is windy and overcast, you can go to a museum or shopping, or even try another side of the island.

Use weather.com - Choose the city, state you want at the top then scroll down to the records and averages button. In there you can find record and ave. hi/lo for every day of the year.

The weather in Hawaii varies greatly depending on what side of what particular island you are talking about. For example, the weather in Wailea, Maui is far less likely to be rainy than in Kapalua, Maui.
