Weather in CA for October

My husband and I are planning a trip to Santa Monica/LA for October. What is the weather like this time of year? Any suggestions what do if it rains? Thanks in advance for your help!

I doubt you will have any rain. It will probably be absolutely beautiful weather. Probably in the 70's or 80's. You may experience the Santa Ana winds off the desert, when the temperature goes quite high, but generally speaking it should be great weather. It will be cool after the sun goes down, however.

October in SoCal is "Indian Summer" with temps in the high seventies to low eighties and no rain but can be somewhat chilly at night ( high forties)

If it rains...check out LACMA, the Getty or the Museum of Tolerance. You should have nice weather, though. Enjoy your trip.

check weatherbase.com for averages. it can be unpredictable. on average, it will be in the 70s. don't expect to lay on the beach or swim in the ocean. other than that, it will be nice.

and yes, there is plenty to do if it rains too, including many museums, restaurants, etc.
