weather differences between west and east florida in summer?

Is there a difference? Should I just avoid a summer trip to Florida all together?

I can guarentee the weather from June through August in the entire state of Florida will be hot, humid, and sticky with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms daily.

It doesn't cool off in the evenings.

I will second what Gotravel says.

Florida is great any other season but summer.

I just returned two days ago from the gulf coast of Florida and it was truly great! The breezes were there - we needed no air conditioning and the beach walks were super!!

Florida is humid in the summer - Washington dC is humid in the summer and most of the south is also!

My mother in law hates humidity and spends time in Colorado Springs in the summers because of this. She says it's wonderful in the summer.

Thanks! So, if temps are okay in Colorado, what about the altitude? Will that be a problem for my kids? Any areas better than others?

You guys are great!
