We want the best deep dish Chicago Pizza

We have two full days in Chicago before a conference. We will be staying at the Homewood Suites near the Navy Pier. Please suggest your favorite place for Deep Dish Chicago Pizza--within walking distance of that area.
A yummy thanks!

Are you sure you don't want White Castle Burgers too? Good lord.

-darvy

M_J, do us all a favor and type "Chicago Pizza" into the search box, above. You'll get about 1,000 postings on this subject.

Good lord.

MJ
We have never had http://www.giordanos.com/
and are frequent visitors to Chicago. We have always been UNO/DUO fams. But the next time we are in Chicago, we will do Giordanos, because the folks on this site seem to favor it.

I will second Giordano's. The stuffed style is about 2" thick, a small is good for two people.

I found Giordano's to be nothing special. While it's been a couple of years, I prefer the original Uno's. It is not at all like the franchise chains you might have tried. Anyway, just my not-so humble opinion.

Lou Malanati's pan pizza

Giordano's is good, but Bacino's on Wacker is very good as well.

as somebody who started eating chicago deep dish pizza in 1962, let me cast a vote for the original pizzeria uno. giordano's stuffed.double crust is something thought up in the 80's and is fine but not true to its heritage. I find Lou Malnati's crust too weak and his sauce too sweet. However, asking your question is like seeking the greatest among great. suggest you cab it to your choice-chicago near the lake is not fun walking until may or june due to weather.
