We need a hotel for our wedding night!

We need a hotel for our wedding night in May. We will be departing the airport Sunday at 11:40am, so I don't know that we absolutely need to have a hotel right by the airport, as we can always shuttle there from a distance.

I haven't been able to find a really nice one though...I mean, we don't want to spend $200, but I would really like a nice room to stay in.

Also, do these hotels have the actual "honeymoon suite" or is that a thing of the past? (or was there ever such a thing?) If so, I assume they are more? Do hotels ever upgrade you for free? (Probably not!)

Can anyone recommend a really nice place to stay? Thanks!

This is an utterly fascinating question, melann, but it would help us if we knew what city you're thinking of getting married in, or at least give us a state so we can guess!

Hotels will upgrade for free on a space available basis. Also, you are much more likely to get upgraded if you join the hotel's frequent stay program.

What city and state are you inquiring about?

When I made a reservation at the airport hotel (Hyatt Dulles) they had a honeymoon special. this includes flowers and dessert on arrival. It does not actually refer to a specific room though. I am sure other cities have this too.

how about the new Westin? the Ritz might have a weekend rate available. It's your honeymoon night for goodness sake. Go for it!
