We love Boston...
Everyone is so nice and friendly in Boston! Sunday, we went to the Boston Tea Party Reenactment and learned about some of the history and had a nice lunch at the Tea Room. Dinner at the Salty Pig that nite was so far the least favorite. Today, we went out to Salem and had lunch at the Fintz Rest. - The kids had their first Lobster-so good!
Tonite, we did some shopping and ate at PFChangs. We are still hoping for snow!!! |
Thrilled you are enjoying your stay. Keep the window shades open in your hotel tonight and you might catch some snow before it turns to warmer temps. Good luck. I'd be happy to shovel an inch or two for your girls to get a treat!!!

PF Changs. How uniquely Boston.
|
Have you looked out the window yet?? Bundle the kids and make a snowman before it all turns to sleet.
Do watch your step!! |
Yes!!! Wishing it would continue all day!! But we will be doing a lot of walking today. We want to see the North End today and am not sure what we do later today yet.
|
The Museum of Science is great for folks of any age, so head there if you want to be inside. There is a T station very close to it.

"am not sure what we do later today yet."
Introduce yourself and your kids to the "real" joys of snow; you are invited to come on over to my house and shovel my driveway. (I for one am sick of snow after last winter. Take it with you when you leave....please!) Hot chocolate for all who shovel. :-) |
Glad you're having fun!
|
Aweee Samba, she would have loved doing it! And thanks Cw.. It was a fun day for us! We started out Early to enjoy the snow, went to the North End, saw Paul Revere's home, Old North Church, had much needed hot choc at Midern Pastry, and even tried a Canolli for the first time. We were sooo cold, so we went to the Science Museum for the afternoon. The girls are out now running the roads of Boston while I am enjoying some hot tea at the hotel. It will be so hard to say good bye on Sat.

Hope the icy weather wasn't too bad for you. Should improve tomorrow.
|
Hope you and the girls get to enjoy a bit of First Night, although I understand it is paired down. The ice sculptures are always fun. These links might help guide you today/tonight

Pared down, apparently, but still with TWO sets of fireworks, at 7 and at midnight!
|
|
The 7pm commons fireworks were far more impressive then I anticipated.
|
I hope you would enjoy.. and you would see snowfall and enjoyed it.

Boston's a great city; I always enjoy walking the streets and taking in the architecture! I really love the almost-European feel of North End. Glad you're enjoying your time there! Best wishes, Daniel |
What's this nonsense about snow? We really have had very little so far and we do NOT want a repeat of last February. Yes, Boston is a great city we have found...moving to Watertown 5 1/2 years ago. We include Cambridge in our activities. Although seniors we have managed to enjoy museums and entertainment. Regretfully lingering health problems kept me from some events in 2015 including Red Sox games. But now in pretty good shape using a cane.

We absolutely loved Boston!!! We did love seeing the snow that one day! The girls and I became pros at using the T and we miss being there! We went to the Isabella Gardner museum, science museum, Fanueil Hall, Boston Market, Tea Party museum, First Night, Frog Pond, Salem, Freedom Trail, Harvard, Newbury St and shopping! I wish I could post a pic on here. Our hotel was great. This group really helped us a lot in deciding where to stay and how to get around. Thank you so much to everyone! We want to go again in Spring!
