WE-HAA in WEHO
 

I need a GREAT hotel for next weekend in this wonderful location!
The Sunset Marquis has only $600.00+ rooms available and The London West Hollywood doesn't have it's pool up and running yet.
I like a little bit of a "scene" but I'm not a kid so nonstop noisy "action" isn't my thing.
If I could afford it, I'd be staying at the Four Seasons...
Help?!

Seriously, did you not read the thread yesterday about using initials that have no meaning to anyone but you? We-Haa in Weho?

I think the "we-haa" doesn't stand for anything except an exclamation -- like "yee-haw". At least we got the West Hollywood in the post -- and WEHO is relatively well known -- maybe not as much as SOHO, but similar.

Still, I agree that West Hollywood in the title would be better.

I really need a weekend away. Maybe that's the problem!
And I could do Texas, but I think it's a little far and perhaps pricy to get to!
So I'll concentrate on LA!

If $600 isn't in your budget, what amount is? How far from WeHo are you willing to stay? Will you have a car? Need the pool? FYI, predictions are for warm temps next weekend.

What about the Chamberlain, West Hollywood. I loved that place when it was the Summerfield Suites, but then did a total renovation as The Chamberlain. Spacious "mini" suites, wonderful roof top pool area with views. Gated under the building parking.
About half that Sunset Marquis price.

They show $309 for the king mini suites with fireplace for next weekend (not that you'll be using the fireplace).

I'm willing to travel! But not out of the warm.
No Santa Monica.
I live in Oakland where "warm" is only an idea.
I'd say $350.00 is about my maximum.
I do have champagne taste, however.

I'm curious. Have you looked at the Chamberlain which Conde Nast calls "one of the hottest new hotels of 2006"? or does that outdate it?

I was a little nervous about the Chamberlain after reading some of the TripAdvisor reports and looking at the pictures of the redone baths.
The Avalon and the Crecent also get not so great reviews.
I feel like such a diva!!
We tried the Sunset Tower when they first opened and checked in and right back out again. It is an old hotel (no problem there) that was really not renovated, just repainted, and poorly repainted. I love character but I don't like a slap dash job.
Sigh. Back to the drawing board.

Did you look at the Mosaic? Uniformly positive reviews on Tripadvisor (ranked #1 of Beverly Hills hotels). $325 a night for next weekend.

Or is it WeHo and only WeHo?

You are absolutely correct! This coming weekend being particularly difficult because of some kind of awards "thing".
The prices vary so greatly among the LA hotels it's amazing. One weekend a room will be $500.00 and the next $149.00. Quality of the room has little to do with it.
I keep coming across little hotels that seem to have potential only to find less than favorable reviews.
If I put my trip off a few weeks the Sunset Marquis has rooms in the $300.00 range, so it can be done.
I'm just looking for that one place that few people know....

I think you're right with that last statement. A wonderful boutique hotel in "hot" WEHO that no one knows about? Kind of a stretch I think in a land where it's all about knowing the latest and best.

And I guess I see your point about the baths at the Chamberlain. While they have been beautifully redone and refitted, they didn't have a lot of room to work with, so they don't incorporate huge open jacuzzi tubs. That would mean nothing to me as I don't want a bath anyway, just a nice shower -- but if that's important to you, then I understand.
