We get mentioned in the NY Post
Yesterday, in the NY Post's travel section, they had a small blurb about travel resources.
For fodors.com, we are described thus: "For the most part, you?ll find diplomatic and intelligent comments from seasoned travelers." |
For the most part.
Provided that the topics of child rearing, obesity, and presidential policy are not raised. |
I admit I'm "seasoned", as in old. But "diplomatic" and "intelligent" aren't thrown my way often. |
They probably meant "don't stay in SF, go to SJ instead" comments.
|
Once in awhile there are some real weirdos who post beyond-nasty things, but they seem to get voted off the island.
|
I'll take the diplomatic and intelligent but I'm not seasoned yet! Maybe marinating but not yet seasoned!
|
For the most part, I cannot make a diplomatic and intelligent comment about this even though I am a seasoned traveler.
|
Seasoned, Diplomatic and Intelligent!
Although I would like to claim one and eschew the other, I will take any praise I can :) |
uh, gee. guess they didn't see the "intelligent" post about whether people like painted clouds on vegas ceilings! :)
|
I speet on zee Poszt!
(I cannot help myself. This deep freeze has attacked my brain cells and I am unable to make intelligent comments.) |
GoTravel, Thank you for the LOL!!
|
"seasoned travellers" - pass the salt and pepper please! Like, I've travelled a lot, but I still haven't tried "seasoned", "marinating" or "basting" yet!
Faina - LOL! That's all we Silicon Valley residents can do! :) |
Being called "intelligent" by the NY Post is scary. O-)
|
Barely seasoned here, (under 30 for a few more months) and diplomatic and intelligent, maybe except for the time I had to argue with the SJ fiend.
Although I have to laugh because out of the NY papers, the NY Post is probably the worst IMHO simply because everytime I've read it, I lost count of the misspellings and grammatical errors!! If a newspaper doesn't even proofread.....;-) |
mr. jasper (travelpup) and i are definetly diplomatic, intelligent and seasoned travelers. we also love to travel with help from fodor's diplomatic, intelligent and seasoned posters.
n.y. times, you are welcome to quote. |
What I love is the volumes left unsaid by those four little words: "For the most part."
|
As Archie Bunker would say "I represent that comment". Just when I thought I was giving advise on places I have actually visited the Post wants me seasoned and ready to eat.
How many NY Post travel writers does it take to screw a light bulb? |
43?
One to hold the light bult and 42 to turn the pile of newspapers he's standing on... |
That's pretty funny - "Provided that the topics of child rearing, obesity, and presidential policy are not raised." (Whew - especially that child rearing one!)
I'd add "...or the poster names his thread 'HELP!!!'" |
Is seasoned the same as SALTy?
And does it mean that this place is PEPPERed with funny comments? I know there's some SAGE advice here, but there are some comments that are MINT to be nasty, and some that I couldn't CURRY less about. There have been some really helpful comments by ROSEMARY, GINGER, and that NUT MEG, but THYME and again, there are some that just don't make sense. And whenever I see the name of a few posters, I know there just going to go on a TARRAGON. |
