WDW Swan or Dolphin

For the same price which hotel at WDW would you choose?

Swan. Slightly nicer and not as kid-focused. Originally, Swan was a Westin and Dolphin was a Sheraton but I'm not sure if that's still the case.

Neither. We stayed there with our children. Didn't find it to be family friendly. It is a nice resort but too uppity for families. Check out Dixie Landings. You didn't mention if you were traveling with children. The Swan and Dolphin just don't feel comfortable with kids. Lots of suits and ties. If traveling w/o children you may enjoy it. The pools are great!!!

Dolphin has more of a chicken taste .. that's sort of how you tell the difference, or so the locals tell us.

I love going to Disneyworld and prefer to stay at hotels where there are less kids (families, in general) if I can help it. I enjoy seeing the kids and families outside of the hotels (at parks, etc.) but I go for peace and quiet, in addition to the fun and beauty. Would the Swan be the most appropriate of all the Disney hotels for this? Sounds like it, but I don't want to assume. Thanks.

Swan always costs more if you order it with orange sauce.

The most adult friendly and expensive resort is Grand Floridian. I have not stayed at Swan or Dolphin but visited them and they appear quite nice. I prefer the Boardwalk as it has a more "fun" in an upscale adult kind of way atmosphere I guess, check it out.

Swan and Dolphin are both adult oriented. There are some families at Dolphin; none at the Swan.

I stayed at the Swan last year, three children included. Not as family oriented as the more moderate hotels. The Dolphin had a much bigger and theme like pool, lots of kids over there, too.

I've stayed at the Swan and loved it, but that was sans kids. We had a great view of Illuminations for the 4th of July Fireworks. I would stay there with my kids too. Swan and Dolphin are very similar. I don't find any big difference other than size and pools.
