WDW-Beach Club

Any tips from someone who has stayed at the Beach Club at WDW? Thanks!

Make sure you get a full size balcony. Some rooms at the BC do not have any balcony and others have a tiny one that you cannot sit out on. The full size is small - only enough room for two chairs and a small table.

BC lacks a fast way of eating - no food court if you have tired hungry kids so plan ahead. The fastest place is the Beaches and Cream ice/hamburger place and muffins etc for a quick breakfast.

Pool is awesome and you can watch the Epcot fireworks from the kiddie pool every night.

Try to get a view of the lake or Boardwalk so you can see the fireworks from your balcony and watch all the action at night.

If you can, upgrade to the Club Floor. We would grab water and cokes on our way to the parks each morning, eat breakfast and lunch there every day. It was worth the extra money not having to buy breakfast and lunch in the parks daily. Also, they will make all of your dinner reservations, call and confirm your flight info and other things.

Has anyone heard about a new Pirate Treasure cruise for kids? I read it about on a web site but now I can't remember where. I think it leaves from the GF.

There is a thread devoted to the Beach Club at www.disboards.com on the resort forum. Also all the info you need about any special cruises, dining, etc.

Thanks for all the advice! The option of watching the fireworks from the beach, kiddie pool or hopefully our balcony will be a great way to end our day.

We stayed at the Yacht Club last year (joint resort with the Beach Club). It was nice to see the fireworks from the balcony, that was a big plus. At check in we requested a room with a fireworks view and we were lucky enough to get one. I was expecting to love the pool (shared with the Beach Club), but we did not. Never enough lounge chairs, one waitress for many people so we couldn't get any service, and the way it is laid out it is hard to get around the pool area to find your kids. The food at poolside was horrible and not much to pick from. I was much more impressed with the pool area at the Port Orleans/Riverside, but the rooms were smaller. Of course you also don't get the view of the epcot fireworks either. I am surprised to say I would go back to Riverside instead, which is a "downgrade" and cheaper.
