WDW Animal Kingdom

Leaving Sunday 11/12 for a conference at WDW and will have about 4-5 hours free on Sunday. Animal Kingdom is the only park I haven't seen and I was wondering if it was possible to "do" in my short time frame, especially given that November is usually pretty slow at WDW. Any of you Disney hands (ilisa, where are you?)able to help me? Thanks!

Absolutely, Curious. We went in Sept last year, took our time, saw what we wanted and more, and were finished in half a day. As the parks go, its on the small side.

Actually, if you haven't seen Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba and they have a matinee show (which they did on Sundays last spring anyway) I would seriously consider that over Animal Kingdom!

Absolutely you can do the park in 4-5 hours. We have found that the park is easily doable in 1/2 a day since it is so small. If you are there early in the day, the first thing you will want to do is the Kilimanjaro Safaris. If you are there later in the day, try the safari toward the end. The best viewing times for animals are early or late in the day. A great thing about doing the park on a non-crowded day is that they will let you ride the Kali River Rapids multiple times without getting off. They did that to us last October. Warning - you will get soaked! I love Animal Kingdom. Have a great time!

I really enjoy the Lion King show at AK, also the Tarzan Rocks show is fun. Kilimanjaro Safaris is a must, countdown to Extinction ride also. Another thought - if you like virtual reality / computer gaming, & don't mind a lot of noise, you might want to try Disney Quest at Downtown Disney. But it is REALLY LOUD and has lots of adolescents there. Virtual Space Mountain is fantastic!

Thanks, all! I worried that I wouldn't have enough time but you've reassured me. I'm looking forward to it!

Curious, You'll have plenty of time to see Animal Kingdon in 4-5 hours. We've been twice and both times did 1/2 days at Animal Kingdom. That's all you need.
Do Kilmajaro Safari first, this attraction usually draws a line. You can use Fast Pass (scheduled time) to bypass the waiting in line.
Have fun!!

Don't miss the "Bug's Life" interactive 3-D theater piece that plays in a nice dark, cool theater under the gigantic "Tree of Life." It's a perfect thing to do to get out of the heat, but it is also one of those rare attractions that parents will enjoy as much as the kids.
Watch out for the bee sting!
