Waterfalls in Hawaii
We will be visiting Hawaii in October. We'll be staying in Maui, but might possibly be able to do some day trips to another island (if I can convince my wife). Are there any waterfalls on Maui or the other islands that anyone would recommend? Thanks.

Well I don't know about waterfalls on Maui....are there stars in the sky???...Of course there are waterfalls on Maui. The most well known of course will be on the road to hana at the seven pools. You will also see a number of waterfalls along this drive.

I would not jump off this island if you are only there for a 10 day stay. I just left the islands and was sad at only having 1 week in Kauai. I thought we wasted our time by giving a second island a look on the second week into our trip. We found ourselves touring the islands. Touring is for Europe relaxing is for the island, IMHO.

BUT BUT BUT if I could not sit still I would take a few days at the volcano, big island, night views being the most incredible.

Visiting Hawaii for first time in mid October for a one week stay. Flying into Honolulu and would prefer to stay put. Any recommendations for hotels? We want a relaxing time with swimming and those gorgeous beaches.

May I suggest Kauai? It has the wettest spot on earth and the most fabulous waterfalls adorned with rainbows. I personally saw many fabulous waterfalls there when I took a helicopter tour (with Jack Harter). Then a couple of days ago on cable I saw a show that talked about a waterfall on Kauai that formed a pool. I can't remember the name of the pool, but you could only get to it by helicopter or a six hour hike on foot. Pick up the "Ultimate Kauai Guidebook" for more info. I bought the book three yearw ago when I went. They update it every year or so.

This gets said over and over but for a good reason. Get the guide book "Maui Revealed". It will lead you to many waterfalls, including some not so well known. The rest of the advice in the book is worth paying attention to also.
