WATERFALLS

For waterfall viewing, you can't beat the Columbia River Gorge Byway. There are, I believe, 11 of them, led by the incredible Multnomah Falls.

Here's a great site for waterfall info. If you scroll to the bottom, it has links to many waterfall sites, including one for Waterfalls of the Pacific Northwest.

check out Silver Falls State Park - close to Salem Oregon- has 12 waterfalls in the park and you can hike to each one on a pretty easy trail -
September is usually a beautiful time at the Park . The waterfalls are not as magnificent as Multnomah - but its one of my favorite spots

September will be beautiful at Rainier-nice weather, fewer tourists and their will be fall color (the huckleberries and blueberries will be turning red). Look at the park's website-esp. the hiking page-for waterfall info.
