Waterbury Vermont?
We are thinking of taking a road trip to Waterbury vermont.

Now since it's a 7 hour drive from NJ any suggestions on where to stop midway somewhere for overnight? This is in case we don't want to drive straight through.

thanks
How about Northhampton Mass? This is a very intersting collge town about an hour south of the Vermont border, close to I-91. Lots of good places to eat, I'm sure there are lots of places to stay in the area.
We just took this trip last month. We stopped in Kingston, NY (south of Albany) which was the old new york capital. We took a hedson river cruise which was very pretty and ate in an old inn near the holiday inn where we stayed reasonably with breakfast included. On our return trip we stayed in Pittsfield , Mass and went to the Hancock Shaker village. That stop going to vermont seemed like a good break time but returning, it seemed like we would never get home (not that we were anxious after visiting vermont which is absolutely beautiful-it really is the real thing and not like some of the "wannabe"New England towns. Enjoy!!

Just spent a weekend in Stowe. We started off our weekend with lunch in Montpelier at the Main St Bar and Grill which is run by the Culinary Institute. I would time your visit so that you can stop there for lunch or dinner. We thought it was reasonably priced considering the high quality of the menu and food. We enjoyed the rest of the afternoon in Waterbury: Ben and Jerry's tour, wine tasting at Cold Hollow Cider Mill and sampling Cabot products, and visiting various shops.

Thanks everyone.
