Washington or Vancouver Island

In late July we are planning a trip to the Pacific Northwest, but we are intrigued by Tofino area/Vancouver. Our itinerary for Pacific NW would be 4 days at Mt. Ranier, 2 days at Crescent Lake, 2 days at Kalaloch Lodge, 2 days Seattle. Canadian trip would be 4 days Tofino area and 4 days Vancouver including hiking in Garibaldi.

Try asking this on the Canada forum as you'll probably get better results!

Definitely Vancouver Island, visit the Victorian Islands and take the ferry! It's beautiful and outshines Washington by 1000%!!!

Don't know why you are doing 4 days at Mt. Rainer. I love Mt. Rainer, but unless you are climbing it two days would do. Then you could spend two days in Vancouver.

Michele always has the BEST advise. Do be sure to see all of the Victorian islands as she recommends. They are indeed 1000% better than anyplace else on this planet.

I'm wondering where these Victorian islands are. I know of Victoria on Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, but have not heard of Victorian Islands.

Vancouver Island is beautiful, but make reservations! Tofino & Ucluelet are at the end of a long road from anywhere and they will gouge you for accomodations if you haven't reserved rooms. Camping may not be so difficult--there are black bears on Vancouver Island. It's great and the people are very friendly! Have fun.
