Washington DC Steak House Restaurant
Any suggestions for a Washington DC steak house, we like morton's chicago (in chicago) and Gallagher's NYC
|
There are Morton's all over the DC area. The one downtown is at:
1050 Connecticut Ave., NW (202) 955-5997 Others I would recommend with prices commensurate with Morton's are: Ruth's Chris Steak House 1801 Connecticut Ave., NW Dupont Circle (202) 797-0033 Bobby Van's Steakhouse 809 15th St., NW Downtown (202) 589-0060 The Palm 1225 19th St., NW Dupont Circle (202) 293-9091 And a slightly quirkier option in Arlington Ray's The Steaks 1725 Wilson Blvd. Arlington (703) 841-7297 |
No doubt about it. As another Gallagher's fan, I recommend Blackie's.

Gallaghers NYC? Ugh! Incredibly noisy, OK food (but nothing great), and indifferent service. Stick with Mortons.
In the DC area, there is also a Morton's in Tysons Corner. Other recommendations would include The Capital Grille and Sam & Harry's. The Market Inn is a personal favorite and also offers excellent seafood. |
Gee, MileKing,
Why don't you just tell LisaO (and me, for that matter) she's (I assume) a dope? She said she liked Morton's AND Gallagher's, and given that preference, where might she enjoy a meal in DC? I didn't see any question like: "Is my taste in steak houses acceptable to you?" |
gc, I'm not calling anyone a dope. In my view, the two (Morton's and Gallaghers) are worlds apart in many ways and that makes it difficult to offer an appropriate suggestion. The places I recommended are much more along the lines of Morton's so LisaO should find them acceptable.

Bobby Van's is my favorite.
